The base game consists of cascading reels and a free spins trail. You awarded free spins if you move far enough up the trail in the same game cycle. The trails position is increased by one step for every cascade in the base game.

There will also be a respins space on this trail labelled "encore" where you are offered a free respin for landing on this position whilst holding the current trail value (all in the same game cycle). If you get far enough up the trail it starts the free spins feature with the Yggdrasil MultiMax mechanics. You can frequently retrigger the free spins feature using the same cascade trail mechanics as in the base game, but with an improved version of the trail.
